JOB OPPORTUNITY
Our laboratory is seeking a highly motivated post-doctoral fellow with strong background and experience in structural biology/ion channel structure and function. Our lab studies structure and function of ion channels with particular emphasis on understanding structural bases of ion channel gating and regulation by small molecules and proteins.
The lab is focused on structural biology but all projects are interdisciplinary in nature and combine structural techniques, such as cryo-electron microscopy (cryo-EM) and X-ray crystallography, with other methods, including molecular biology, protein biochemistry, kinetic modeling, fluorescent measurements and electrophysiology.
Our lab has access to APS and ALS beamlines and to electron microscopes at NYSBC and Columbia University.
Columbia University offers a highly collaborative social and scientific environment as well as a competitive salary and benefits in a beautiful location in the City of New York.
The successful candidate must have a PhD (or being in the process of completing it) in a relevant field with a demonstrated track record of productive research, and must be able to work both independently and as part of collaborative team. X-ray crystallography or Cryo-EM/cryo-ET experience is highly desirable.
The position is available immediately and will remain open until filled.
To apply: send email with CV, list of publications and name of 3 referees to Dr. Sobolevsky as4005@cumc.columbia.edu
